Honduran national pleads guilty to illegal reentry

A Honduran national pleaded guilty to the felony offense of illegal reentry after deportation, court records show.

Public records reveal after being deported on three prior occasions, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) encountered the individual in Lee County, Florida on May 30, 2019.  Court documents filed July 23 disclose the Honduran national was found to have illegally reentered the United States on an unknown date.

The penalties for violation of 8 U.S.C. § 1326(a) include up to two (2) years in jail and a fine not to exceed $250,000.

A sentencing date is scheduled for October 22,2019.
